ABOUT ME:

Joana Castro is a Porto-based Casting Director with over a decade of experience in the fashion industry.

She began her career as a model after participating in a modeling contest, gaining valuable insight into the industry from both in front of and behind the camera. Alongside her work, she completed a degree in Communication Sciences and Business Communication.

Joana later transitioned into production, where she developed a strong foundation in the field and discovered her passion for casting.

She joined Farfetch as a Casting Producer, working across multiple business units and contributing to a wide range of global projects. This experience further shaped her approach and led her to fully establish herself as a Casting Director.

She now specializes in casting for fashion photography and film, fashion shows, and advertising, alongside runway casting, show choreography, and backstage management.

Alongside her independent practice, Joana has collaborated with both national and international clients, including Portuguese Soul magazine, Tiffosi, Salsa Jeans, and brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Reebok, KIABI, New Balance, Under Armour, Banana Republic, Byphasse, Vuori, and HTSI.
